A number-that-shall-not-be-named of years ago, one chilly Valentine’s night in Charleston, South Carolina, Sarah walked into Tess’ bar—a real classy establishment called The Tattooed Moose.

Tess thought to herself, “Gee that girl is cute!” Alas she was with a gentleman and given the holiday, Tess assumed they were on a date. Darn it.

Lo’ and behold, Tess was mistaken. Shortly after the pair left, a coworker bussed their table and flagged Tess down. She smiled broadly, said “You’d better invite me to the wedding”, and handed Tess a receipt signed by one Sarah Hamilton. On it was written a phone number and a totally wholesome, endearing, and not at all embarrassing pickup line.

As it turns out the gentleman was just a friend and Sarah thought Tess was cute too! Eek! The next day, Tess took a big nervous breath, dialed the number, and the rest, as they say, is history.
